Amir Rosenbaum is the host of the Virginia City 341 Challenge, known as the Nurburgring of Nevada. It’s a hill climb race on a real two-lane mountain road that goes from 5000 feet to 6200 feet, has no guardrails and all cars must be street legal. Amir talks about the race and his experiences running a streamliner at Bonneville. Then we fire up his custom ’70 Camaro.

The headlight bezel trim piece is held by 3 screws and his screws need to be painted black – details count. Mufflers are needed for the street – you can rig up exhaust cutouts that can be pulled open from inside the car for occasional noisy fun.
I’m glad the US has a hillclimb event. I always wondered why not while playing pretend on the bay area backroads (obviously liability issues). I can’t believe I haven’t heard of the 341 until now. Gotta love the www. I can watch the old euro hillclimb videos for days. Lancia, Renault, Audi, BMW etc. So bad ass. Bwaraaaap!
That was fun. Thanks, guys.
Great show. I am sure that, like Adam said, Amir’s neighbors hate him for the sound that beast makes
