On the title for the podcast and on the page for this weeks ‘cast, you’ve listed this car as a 350z and 350zx. Might be something to fix before any other Datsun-heads see it.

Love the show, keep up the good work!

Neuman, seriously? Isn’t it NEWMAN? Like the most famous actor/racers of all time, you can’t get his name right? Adam, time to go off on a jag over your own website

All mine. Sadly just up too late and didn’t check. Don’t worry I’ll let Adam do a rant/jag combo.

Couldn’t get them to move two cars for the video shoot?

    • CarCast September 6, 2009

If you saw Les’s place you wouldn’t ask that question 🙂

Hey guys. I was watching the 300ZX video and I immediately recalled the tragedy you spoke of; I was an 11-year old kid sitting in the hospitality tent (I think it was Toyota’s) just up the track from where Fitzgerald hit at the St. Pete Grand Prix. Strange. Anyway, I enjoy the podcasts, especially the old Datsun and Nissan race cars as my Dad raced a 914-6 back in the 70s and those cars take me back to my childhood at Watkins Glen, Limerock and Briar (before it became NH motor speedway or whatever they call it now). Take care.

I was at that race as well, sitting in the GTE area near the start/finish line. I think the accident happened in the first series of tuns. We could see some of the track emergency vehicles tending to the crash, but did not really know what was going on until we listened to the radio on the ride home. This was the first time I’ve heard that Jim Fitzgerald died of a heart attack before he crashed, since I remembered it being a broken neck. I was only about 8 or so, and after a quick search found a St. Pete Times article that references the crash, http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=3psMAAAAIBAJ&sjid=8mADAAAAIBAJ&pg=3561%2C1290729

The medical examiner didn’t find any evidence of heart trouble and ruled out that he had a heart attack.

What is with all the bitching an moaning?

It’s a free podcast, free videos of cars you may not otherwise see, that is hosted on a website that is free, even though all this stuff has to paid for by someone. Seems like Adam is paying for hosting, bandwidth, and salaries so we can have something nice for free, and all people seem to do is complain.

As a web developer myself, it bugs me when people flame openly about mistakes on a web site. Is your intent to shame the person who did the work?? There is a contact email for CarCast that you could use to point out mistakes that are present without being a dick. Trying to make yourself look good by pointing out mistakes in others is pretty pathetic.

On a lighter note, I REALLY enjoy CarCast. In the days of a NASCAR dominated country, it’s nice to have a place to come and see some really great Japanese and European cars, especially stuff like this beautiful old Nissan.

    Keep it up!

    Billy –

While I understand your complaints about people complaining, I think we all just enjoy yelling at Donny. Just a thought.

Rock out with your cock out Donny,

Hey guys, I love the car cast! I am really excited to see this car being featured and I was wondering when the updates are coming on the build? Also, when are we going to hear this thing fire? Oh and who is helping you guys collect the rare and hard to find electromotive engine pieces? I have some pieces from the older electromotive car and have had trouble locating a few bits. Thanks guys, and I cant wait to see this thing back on the circuit!
