Holy Shhhh I’m glad I was sitting down when I started this video because I was SHOCKED to see Jay was wearing denim. lol Great carcast, Jay Leno is a fascinating man and suprisingly intelligent, or at least more so than I thought he was. It was really interesting listening to his stories and experiences around cars going back many, many years. Thanks guys!

First Jay, next is Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear… I wish… Maybe they will bring the Veyron. Well this was a great episode. I would not mind seeing something like this on TV. Adam needs to get a hold of that Top Gear America pilot and put it on the car cast. Well good stuff as usual, keep up the good work Adam and staff.

    love the podcasts!

a few days ago, i was telling my son (who is a huge top gear fan) that adam is making a backdoor run at having his own version of top gear here. i think the potential is huge.GO internet!

jay leno, great car guy. i go to the jaylenosgarage website all time.

Just a thought… can all of the Adam/Car Cast listeners rally around the idea of getting the Top Gear America show goign? I’m pretty sure if we get tens of thousands of people emailing or calling the network that owns the pilot, we could convince someone to f’ing run the thing. I live for two things… Adam’s podcasts and Top Gear on BBC.

Adam, Donny, Cioffi… anyone who’s reading this… please tell us what to do as listeners so we can put some pressure on the idiots that shelved Top Gear America!

Also, I’m putting in a vote to get Jeremy Clarkson on as well! Who cares if he doesn’t bring his own car… let him show off one of his favorite Ferraris or give his comments on Adam’s cars or whatever! Carolla and Clarkson would be and awesome show!

Love me some Vettes, and that one looks amazing. I like how this and the ZR1 still look like normal C6s in black.

Kind of weird to see Jay talking about the car without having his whole spiel ready. On jaylenosgarage.com he seems a bit more warm.

I just tore thru my boxer briefs with my horsepower hardon.

Thank you Ace for bringing on Jay & checking out one of his awesome cars.

Now do me a favor & get Reggie Jackson on the podcast/carcast. He said he was holding an auction to sell 25 of his classic cars including two ferraris he purchased nearly 30 years ago. Each one was $200+ 30 years ago & have appreciated up to $6-$8Million.

I’d love to hear you two wax on about his cars.

I volunteer to send an email daily to get an American Top Gear going. How they could pay for the pilot and then not make the show baffles me.

My vote: Adam Corolla, Jay Leno, and Tim Allen as hosts. A slam dunk.

    It’s On Togglebolt!

This CarCast is now in my ears Sunday morning as I head to a car show, or I’m in the garage. Thanks buddy.

As far as AmTopGear, compare Tommy Kendall’s Speed Test drive (which is typically like an infomercial) with Aceman injecting The Funny, while driving the Prius (short clip below–see if you can Tivo the rest, because Ace is great on camera–I’d love to see more out-takes), and the smear job Jeremy did with the Prius (quick before BBC pulls it like they did with the Tesla vid):

Listen, I know they have to amp it up for the BBC TopGear show. Their show is like “Hard Copy” for cars. And I can enjoy it, because I know it’s more entertainment than factual information. But the general population ain’t all that bright, and they don’t know that Hybrids get GOOD mileage city, in stop-n-go traffic where the electric engine is more in use, the regenerative braking helps keep the batteries topped off and the engine shuts off at every street light, and NORMAL mileage highway, because it’s just using the little gas engine. You can hear the live audience actually gasp when he makes the point about the environmental impact of nickel (which is a good point to make, so I’ll give him that).

They also flogged a Tesla Roadster (which uses Lithum-Ion) until it nearly drained, faked pushing it back to the garage, implying it’s a failure.

    Jeremy?…he’s….well, Jeremys Jeremey.

Just a thought, but do you really NEED the Top Gear brand? Carrolla’s CarCast is already better. Build your own brand mahbrutha. Shine on those BS Brits.

    Coupla other ideas:
Motors in the Movies. Do a quick review of vehicles in film. Classic stuff like “Two Lane Blacktop”, etc- (Warren Oates as “GTO” rewards repeated viewing). “The Far-Out World of The High Speed Scene”. Tons of other well-knowns like that, but even less-well known could fit a regular segment. Show a clip, quick Ace-wit and The Prof commentary. The thing writes itself.

btw, if you haven’t seen Billy Bob Thorton’s portrayal of the hick-mechanic in Oliver Stone’s “U-Turn”, it’s brilliant. I bought the DVD just for this performance. Get it. Watch it. Preview:

Oh, and let’s see some bike stuff. I know it’s called Car Cast, but so what? Not specific to movies, mind you (“World’s Fastest Indian” perhaps?) but generally. Hell, I wouldn’t mind a show with the vintage props you’ve got. It’s all good if it goes.

  10. Idiot

who cares about american top gear. fuck american top gear. i don’t want to hear about it again. we don’t need it cuz we got adam carolla car cast. fuck nbc.
