I love the old Datsuns. I had a 77 210 that was pretty bitchin. I had it 3 weeks and got sideswiped by some asshole with no insurance and got in and out the passenger door climbing over the stick and console for the next 80,000 miles. I wouldn,t be spry enough to attempt that now. I miss the rear wheel drive days.
Guess I’ll have to come back for the video, the ‘director’s commentary’ without the video leaves a little too much to the imagination.
Keep up the good work Adam, really enjoy the CarCast.
Video up! Enjoy.
Awesome!! Nice work fellas, I really enjoyed the video.
Thanks Aceman, lived in San Diego for a few years and had no idea about the race in Coronado.
Seeing the old Datsuns is awesome. I had a ’73 510 with a nasty L18 (dual 44 Mikunis, Racer Brown cam, stinger ignition, pop tops) a 200SX 5 speed, LSD, etc. I so regret selling that car. I sold it to a friend 20 years ago and he promptly fsck’ed it up…shame. Nothing like some sidedrafts barking out of open velocity stacks.
I love the video. Grew up in SCCA and have always liked the Datsuns and even the early Nissans. Not that it matters, but I noticed they put a lot of emphasis on the “dock” when they said “paddock.” Is that how they pronounce it out west?
Great race Adam. I really liked the in car cam footage with you doing the voice over afterwards.
Hey Ace, great race! Props to the Weez as well. The edits on the carcast keep getting better and better. That was really fun to watch!
“Ganz! Get this kid outta here!” ….Stay classy, Aceman
He is the only one that can talk as much as Adam, so he is going to be a regular guest 😉
Sandy
Great video! Loved that hole shot pass near the wall!
As Ace mentioned (and based on my experience as a former SCCA road racer at Laguna Seca and Sears Point) it’s extremely difficult to get your bearings on a road course without some elevation changes or braking points. The course at Coronado is like doing an auto cross at 130 mph.
Awesome driving job Adam!
Great video guys! Nice editing job Weez. Got to see all the stuff I didn’t see being there.
just make this a frickin VIDEO PODCAST already!!!!!!!
That’s a sweet car, nice race ace!
Moar videoz plz! How about making this available as a video podcast?
