Happy New Year! Welcome to 2010. Adam Carolla and the Professor Sandy Ganz take you on a tour of the shop where the CarCast magic happens. We take a look at the work area as well as the ‘Playground’. Hey Adam,

on one of your podcasts you said that you didn’t think Ford Escorts didn’t have ski racks. I wish they didn’t . They were stock on escort wagons in the 90s. My 93 Escort wagon has it. Im stuck with the stupid ski rack, and I would like to get rid of it.

You got to have a prize for the farthest driven car (not trailered) to race at the Willow Springs meet up. I am thinking of driving my 1996 Geo Prism w/205,000 miles on it. I hope their won’t be any safety inspections.(Maybe a “Safety Meeting” w/Donny) If I can get a ride back we can blow it up or roll it off a cliff. Rock On, Funkin A!

Great episode! Any videos on that M3 coming up? Looks like a real nice one.

PS: That’s a mean band saw. In my machining class we used an old DoALL vertical band saw. Its 45 years old and has a couple of teeth missing, kinda like a crack whore… You always had to ease your workpiece in and out slightly, otherwise the part with the missing teeth would catch onto the metal and it would smack the workpiece out of your hand into your face. Still to this day its in use and scaring the shit out of freshmen.

We have a featured car slot for the M3 coming up. And I think all high schools had a band saw like that as well as the teacher missing two tips of his fingers… Not to mention the Belt Sander Races!

I love the show, listen every Sat morning. But I often seem to have trouble with the videos, they keep locking up in buffering mode, and I’m on a high speed cable connection. Any chance of loading these to a different server than Motorator?

I enjoyed this a lot, I would like to see a progress car over a period of shows, like the mustang etc.

We never got to hear how Adam escaped from the killer router with the deadly spade bit, spinning out of control.

    Great show as per usual.

Hey Donny, you do great work but easy on the camera. Lots of motion was making me a little motion sick. Frame a shot and let the guys work within the frame until you need to move on. Maybe get one of those Merlin (tiffen) steadicam setups, I hear they’re less than $1k and work pretty well.

I’m not pro but I’ve listened to a few photography podcasts that deal with introduction to video for photographers and they mentioned the tips. Even without dropping any more money you can clean up the motion a bit.

Anyways, just adding some constructive criticism, I know you work hard otherwise those minibikes would be built by now! 😉

Damn Donny – if you are going to be inside a structure, wouldn’t it make sense to put one of those newfangled things called a, “light” on top of your video camera in order to better facilitate the viewing experience?
