May be worthwhile to post on CarCast a video clip of Jim’s call in question to Adam on the 7/21/11 Ustream “Adam and You” (34:22 to 41:58), which covered the basics of torque/brake horsepower/rpm/displacement.

This photo is all about weird stuff going [on] with pants.

How about Mouth Breathers Racing Concepts for a team name? My contribution.

Really good vid… I feel like the new ‘Car Show’ would be a lot better if it had some stuff like this, Ganz really needs to get on there and make the thing fun like these carcast videos.

Thanks for doing this Adam. Making me want to go rescue the 3(!) little roadsters right by my house, all in varying states of disarray. Sadly we are in the minority of people who think this is an important and worthwhile way to spend our time and money. Can’t wait to see future episodes with the Newman cars. LOVE that Camel car in your garage.

ACEMAN – what class are you going to run at the Monterrey Historics? Will you be there Friday for qualifying or just showing up Saturday?? Planning my trip and want to see the BRE in action!

    • CarCast July 25, 2011

I think Ace is running on Friday and Sunday. I don’t recall what he said about the class (Might be B-Production, but not sure but must be on line somewhere). I think he said he is not running on Saturday, but I think we are at the track for some spectator action.

I was wondering: Was that extra hump on the roll cage added for Ace, or was it already there?

Also, I don’t know if it was intentional (probably not), but I dig the way Ace’s helmet echoes Buck Owen’s signature guitar.

    • CarCast July 25, 2011

      Scott –

That was added because Adam is taller then the Average driver and his head was above the roll bar line, and he wanted at least something higher then his helmet. The paint scheme is likely old school Datsun BRE Team colors or something, but not sure.

Really great show! Terrific video great guest.

Anyway of defaulting the ‘player’ to a lower volume? The default is ‘max’ volume when it opens [same for other ACE podcasts as well]

    • CarCast July 25, 2011

      Greg

Don’t think so, it’s pretty simple and I don’t recall any settings in the code that allows a preset for volume. About the only thing I can suggest is before clicking on the Play button is to turn down the PC’s volume a bit.

No worries – Thanks for reply Sandy – I’ll see what I can do.

Once you get things sorted out, take a screen shot of the gauges (oil temp, pressure, coolant, etc) and then rotate them in the dash so when at full operating temp/pressure, the needles all point vertically. Makes it much easier in a race to see that everything is working properly without actually having to read the gauge.
