Adam’s Miura

February 13, 2010

It’s finally here, and not a minute too soon. This episode we haul down to Bobileff Motorcar Company to pick up Adam’s restored Miura. We take you through a bit of the work done on the car as well as a chat with Gary Bobileff who performed the work on the car. In the true spirit of Carolla, this car has been worked out to be a masterpiece work of automotive art. The Miura S has been modified to be more like the SV model, wider fenders, and much of the SV treatment. Some special touches include wider front and rear rims (with matching vintage tires) to fill out the wheel wells. And just for fun we tossed in Adam firing up an ultra rare Lamborghini SV/J (Jota). Check out the picture gallery for the journey…

Adam, way back when you described the color choices for the Miura, I cringed. But the car is beautiful and I won’t doubt your wisdom again. Thanks for sharing!

No, I don’t think you can get it unless you use one of the browser capture software plugins, and not sure it it will have the same problem while it captures the video.

The look OK and euro, but not the crap they had on the back. I think Adam was OK with them, but he HATES the shit the DOT puts on and I think those may not have been but not sure.

Sweet! Thanks for the inside look. I’m wondering how much that Bobalief guy makes a year. His job is the equivalent to giving bikini waxes to supermodels, I’d pay to have that job. Anyway I enjoyed the segment. And I was excited to hear that Top Gear is alive again.

Hey nice lambo adam, not a big fan of the newer lambos but have been an avid ferrari fan. Any how i rented a ferrari 360 spider w/ the gated manual for 3 days, before i pony up the money and buy one and below 100k i think the time to pull the trigger is now. Any way SANDY! how would i talk to you and adam on the show, like that skype call thing to talk about me buying either a 360 or a stradale or maybe sway me into buying something else. Thanks

We have a toll free number now if in the USA, not sure if you are. The number are usually in the Twitters, subscribe to it and you will get the updates for when we are on the phone and other interesting rambles…

You’ll be keeping it covered and obsessing that no one can touch it. “Don’t even think about ____ it!”. Beautiful car, don’t have Leno come over and sh*t on the restoration.

Adam must host Top Gear. No one else in the USA could be a greater host. He’s practically the american Jeremy Clarkson.

What is a Halogen fire system…..does it use a bright light to put the fire out?

J/K….must be a typo, caption on 4th imagine on last page. Either way, beautiful car and worth the extra insurance of having a fire suppression system.

Ha, I could fix that but I won’t more fun to hear about the typo! And I think you want one in the Miura, you would say the same thing if you saw some of the engineering, but you forgive that due to the art of the car.

What is with trucking it home? If I had waited a year plus for my Miura, I would have made a speed run back to the garage.

So your not familiar with the early Italian cars 😉 Adam’s other Miura is the driver, this is more a trailer queen, it’s too nice to be beat up except now and again. But who knows, Adam is not typically a ‘Waxer’ I’ll be it’s out and about locally.

Nice color choices inside and out – stance looks great too with the widened rear wheels and vintage tires. Why not post a pic of the door handles? One of my favorite features of the Miura is how the handle is disguised amongst the c-pillar louvers. Thanks for the great podcast!

The Miura looks awesome! What tires did you end up going with? They look like they might be Avon’s?

I see what you mean by the “old gold” color. I’d call it more of a polished brass kind of color. Sweet ride though! I love the midnight blue finish! Excellent choice, Aceman!

Awesome!!! Been listening to CarCast since its inception and finally got around to checking some of the pics and videos out, nice…. As Adam has said himself, these are rolling pieces of art. Love the colors on this one. The “dirty gold” as opposed to the yellowy gold would have been my choice as well. Good luck and continue doin the lords work…
