Here is one of Sandy’s car for a change. He brings down his 1966 Sunbeam Tiger MK1A. This car was an eBay purchase and needs a bit of works, but it’s a cool car with a lot of potential. And as odd as this sounds Adam seems to find it favorable even though it is not an Lamborghini.

I remember from the CarCast with the pro-touring El Camino that any configuration where the engine is located between the front and rear axles is considered mid-engined.

I listen to Adam most days, but NEVER miss my CarCast! My favorite segment is “Collector Car.”
Sandy, your Tiger got me fired up.
Two questions:
1) When I was a kid my day had a Sunbeam Alpine and I loved that car (he sold it years ago). I’m looking to buy something fun to play with. Is it worthy as a “Collector Car,” or am I just begin nostalgic? Would I be better with a Triumph or similar?
2) What are some of the better old-car websites? When I search for stuff I often feel I’m finding very high-end, totally-restored sites which are way out of my financial league. I’m an above average wrencher and am not intimidated by mechanical work, but I avoid body-work when possible. I find Craig’s list and e-Bay to be a pain-in-the butt. Any suggestions?
(By the way, I thought the piece with Kelley Styring was AWESOME! The hypervigilence—she and Adam must have been separated at birth.)

Sandy, you gotta put the Fuel Injection with those stacks in that Tiger! That would be a real gem to see when you pop the bonnet. I grew up annually attending the All British Field Meet with my father in Portland. We always stopped an extra few minutes for my dad to admire the Tigers. Of all the cool and interesting cars there, those were among his favorites. I’d love to get my hands on one someday. Thanks for featuring it!
I haven’t been in several years, but the All British Field Meet is still going strong, largest British car gathering in the west. Great vintage racing, perfect for that 331. Check it out.

The Individual Throttle Bodies are fuel injected, you can see the rails in between the velocity stacks. Image 22 clearly says “injectors”.
This car will be a track monster, light with massive NA power on an independent coil over setup. the car should handle on rails, and be able to hit a 50/50 distribution with the 3-way adjustable suspension. (I’m assuming an independent rear is in the works, miata or rx7 based?)

The hood design is from the Los Angeles Tiger product line, or “LAT” as it’s referred to. See the last page:

No idea if it’s a real LAT hood or not…
Also, the racing Tiger that crossed the auction block at Monterey is a reproduction of the Doane Spencer/Hollywood Sports Tiger which competed in 1965 SCCA B-Prod. It’s the reason why my dad, the original owner of a ’66 Mk1a, always brags about how Tigers handed Stingrays and GT350s their asses on the race track…
Love these cars – not beautiful by any stretch, but you can turn them into beasts that will make unsuspecting fat-wallet posers go home and cry in their milk…

The webers/injectors will tuck under the hood so all is good in that respect!
