Laguna Seca Winter Speed Days Recap

February 4, 2012

Adam Carolla and Matt D’Andria do a play-by-play recap of the Winter Speed Days track day at Laguna in January 2012.

Adam ran his recently-acquired Fitzy Datsun 280. They also talk about the eyeful of high-dollar race cars (and rigs) at the event. We also hear about Matt getting black-flagged for his re-creation of the famous “Zanardi pass” while driving Adam’s Lexus IS F on the track.

Really enjoyed visiting the blog. I’m a total car nut, whose Dad raced Ferraris back in the day and have raced on and off since 1968. Raced an Alfa GTA Jr., a Datsun 2 liter in D Prod. (built by Bob Sharp’s engineer) and currently own and race Scott Pruitt’s 1994 Trans Am champion Camaro. Sadly, I broke the motor at Lime Rock last year. Looking forward to following your show. I’m so old I even remember Tony Adamowicz from when he raced for Marvin Davidson and won the F5000 championship. My Dad got Marvin involved with racing when they were on Wall St. together.

Jim’s 280 really does look nice but it never really raced in that configuration. It never had the big rear box flares on it. It only raced that paint scheme for a very short time. I was there the day it left Jim’s garage the last time. I’m glad the car has a good home though.
