Dino Crescentini of StopTech Brakes

January 22, 2010

Adam Carolla, Sandy Ganz talk with Dino Crescentini of StopTech brakes. We take a look and help fire up Dino’s Porsche GT Super Car, then help Dino fire up the musical v10 Porsche. The lines open up for a quick call, then a few more of the TMPCC Movie Cars with a law enforcement theme. That’s this week on CarCast.

Before I even listen, let me say that the pictures of those brakes makes stopping as cool and sexy as going.

enjoy the program. Just watching some of the videos on motorator.com…. The interview labelled “CarCast – Steve Strope at Source Interlink Media Open House” at the 1:47 mark. Is that a rat? Runs from right to left behind Adam.

I smell a rat, and I don’t mean a Big Block Chevy. That is a HUGE rat that tools on by. I’m going to get the camera video and take a look, but seems that the Open House was a open to a lot more the car folks.

      Sharp Eyes!

On brakes (or anything trying to quench heat) you need surface area. Fluting increases this over holes, just like your fins on your amps. You mentioned “iron” as opposed to titanium in your podcast; mass isnt as crucial as linear expansion. Chrome Moly’s mixed into carbon increases its durabilities to heat. If I had the money, I would experiment with a powder coated version of a C276 rotor with “slots” with some form of heat exchange in its core. You still need the spine and tensile strength on your rotor, but you could achieve this with high chrome and moly.

Anybody else having trouble getting itunes to download this and last week’s podcast? The ACP comes through fine every day but I always get an error message on the carcast. Or maybe the Chinese authorities are just f-ing with me.

Keep up the good work. I guess I can always try motorator.

      T from C –

No issues I know of. You can try 2 ways to download it, either the direct link or via your iTunes both hit the same source. Let me know. ACP is on a different services then CarCast or Spider and the Henchman. Not sure if the place is banned in China, but let me know if you can’t get it and I’ll chat with the provider to see if they know anything…

Thanks for following up. I’ve tried both ways and just can’t get it to download (or even listen via streaming) . Didn’t have the problem before so I suspect something’s going on. Motorator works fine so I’ve been watching the streaming videos there. BTW, Youtube, twitter and facebook are all banned in China. What a country….

I have a Porsche 911 motor thats blown. There is a company in LA Motor Miester and they say they can take a 3.2 and bore to 3.4 and rebuild it for less than most people rebuild. Have you guys ever heard of them or do you know anyone else who migt be able to help.\Thanks Mike

I have seen the name but not at all familiar with them. DO YOUR HOMEWORK before dropping some cash and your motor on them (not just them but any one). Hit Pelican Parts, they have about the best source for Porsche info I have found and someone should be able to give you a couple of suggestions and feedback on MM.

I usually love these videos and free podcast and I really love Adam’s tallent and I hate people who make negative comments.

BUT…. you guys fawning over this machine is so fucking gay. Its like you guys have such small cocks that you have to make this car into somthing more than it is. Its not a hot girl its a lump of plastic and metal made for rich fags with small dicks. You don’t have to make such a big deal about it. Go to a strip club and go f-some hoes.

I’m buying a new car tomorrow, one that I have dreamt of ever since I got into the European car scene. Now that dream is a little deflated. Yes tomorrow I am buying an Audi s4, with single piston brakes. Thanks ganz.

Thanks! I have been drivng Ace’s S4 and it’s a great car except for the crazy Navigation system which seems to make us get lost while screwing with it 😉

      Congrats!

I wish I could watch it, but the effing video keeps freezing up, every time I try to watch a video here it’s the same thing. Guys, I love the show, but seriously use some other service to host your videos, Motorator blows.

I am sorry, but Sandy, please let the guest speak. I know you are excited to spout out your knowledge but at least allow the guest to talk before you decide to throw down your knowledge.

      Matt –

Thanks for the feedback. It gets exciting to chat with folks like Dino, and it bubbles up too fast sometimes for the guests. For Adam, you have to toss it in when he is gulping air sometimes and it’s tricky to remember the guests vs. Adam thing.
